Based in central Tenterden, The Social Hub is a registered not-for-profit charity. We provide a purposeful day for adults with both physical and/or learning disabilities, the elderly and those with the early stages of dementia living in the Tenterden and Ashford District. Our work contributes to their overall independence and wellbeing and provides a safe and caring environment.
Dementia Coordinator role
We’re looking for a caring and self-motivated individual to work in the Tenterden Community and surround to provide consistency as a single point of contact to support individuals newly diagnosed with Dementia. The Coordinator will provide support at each step of the pathway from pre-diagnosis to end of life, if this is needed by the person with dementia and their carers and family.
You will be expected to work closely with the Primary Care Network and work in partnership with GP's and Memory Assessment Services.
You will be a confident and well organised person and have excellent communication and listening skills. Knowledge and understanding of the local voluntary sector and statutory bodies would be an advantage as would knowledge of health and safety rules, regulations and legislation.
Full training will be given and you will be expected to be mobile with a current driving licence and your own transport – business mileage will be paid by our organisation.
£20,000 per annum for a 37.5 hour week – Mon-Friday

Part-time Support Worker
Hours of Work: 15 hours per week /Mondays and Fridays – 9am to 4pm. (There will be an occasional requirement to work outside of these times for transport and activities)
Place of Work: Tenterden Social Hub, Church Road, Tenterden
Salary: £9.50 per hour
The role of the Support Worker is to work with our staff and volunteers to help members to:
take control of their daily activities
increase their self-esteem, confidence and skills by sharing skills, knowledge and experience that they already have
help them to learn new skills and meet with different experiences
gain access to other activities and facilities in the local community
Domestic Helpers – minimum 10 hours per week
Place of work: In the Community to all areas served by Tenterden Social Hub
Hours: Minimum of 10 hours per week – more hours will be available
Hourly rate: £9.50 per hour
Car owner and driver essential
Tenterden Social Hub exists to support older adults and adults with learning and physical disabilities who live in the Tenterden and surrounding villages, contributing to their overall independence and wellbeing. The role of the Domestic Helper is to provide a high quality service helping with daily tasks such as shopping, laundry and household cleaning. (No personal care is required).
Part-time Driver - Minibus
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday (08.30am to 10am and 2.30pm-4pm)
(with an occasional requirement to work outside of these times)
Place of Work: Tenterden, Kent (In the Community to all areas served by Tenterden Social Hub)
Salary: £9.50 per hour
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
Place of work: Tenterden Social Hub, Church Road, Tenterden
Hours of work: 8 hours per week (2 hours a day, 4 days a week)
Hourly rate: £9.50 per hour. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
To keep the office, rooms, toilets and bathrooms in a clean and hygienic condition and adhere to a cleaning schedule
To undertake other cleaning duties including periodic spring cleaning as requested by the Manager
